Document, ondertekend door Napoleon Bonaparte, 1801

Een document van de République Française gedurende de periode van het Consulaat, gedateerd in de revolutionaire jaartelling 5 Thermidor An IX (=24 juli 1801). Met rechtsonder de handtekening van Napoleon Bonaparte, op dat moment de Eerste Consul van Frankrijk. Het document is medeondertekend door Louis Alexandre Berthier (prince de Neuchâtel, prince de Wagram, 1759-1815), op dat moment Minister van Oorlog en door Hugues Maret (staatssecretaris en vertrouweling van Napoleon; 1763-1839). Het document is deels voorgedrukt en deels in handschrift en heeft betrekking op de verlening van een jaarlijks staatspensioen van 100 francs aan Catherine Josèphe Dufrannes, weduwe van de chasseur Jean-Joseph Dutrieux van het 5e Bataljon Tirailleurs, overleden in het Militair Hospitaal van Mons. Het is voorzien van een gegraveerd vignet van de zittende Franse maagd getooid met een Phrygische muts met daaronder de tekst: ‘Bonaparte 1er Consul de la République’. Tevens voorzien van een blindstempel met het opschrift; ‘Au nom du peuple Français – Bonaparte 1. Consul’. Afmeting 33 x 42 cm, in lijst (39 x 52 cm), achter glas. (Verkocht)

Document of the French Republic during the Consulate period, dated in the revolutionary era 5 Thermidor An IX (= July 24, 1801). With the signature of Napoleon Bonaparte, at that time the First Consul of France. The document is co-signed by Louis Alexandre Berthier (Prince de Neuchâtel, Prince de Wagram, 1759-1815), then Minister of War and by Hugues Maret (Secretary of State and confidant of Napoleon; 1763-1839). The document is partly pre-printed and partly in manuscript and relates to the granting of an annual state pension of 100 francs to Catherine Josèphe Dufrannes, widow of the chasseur Jean-Joseph Dutrieux of the 5th Battalion Tirailleurs, who died in the Military Hospital of Mons. It bears an engraved vignette of the sitting French Virgin, adorned with a Phrygian cap with underneath the text: "Bonaparte 1er Consul de la République".
