Chinese chatelaine met opiumaccessoires, ca. 1900, Vervaardigd uit laag gehalte zilver en gebruikt bij de consumptie van opium. Lengte 32 cm. (Verkocht)

 

Chinese Qing Dynasty chatelaine with opium accessories and tools. The chatelaine consists of a circular case with cover, with two tools connected to it. Four more tools connect to a silver pendant charm in the form of a duck. Case and pendant are connected with a thread. The opium case is decorated on both sides. Chatelaines were worn at the waist to hold a variety of useful items. Included on this chatelaine are:- knife: to cut the opium- spoons: to tamp the opium in the damper- pointed tools: for cleaning. Total length: 32 cm. Weight: 27,9 g. Provenance: China; possibly Miao ethnic. Date: late 19th or early 20th century.
